We design and build original timber furniture, hand crafted in our Auckland workshop using traditional methods.

The Sawpit is located in a building shared by Jazzinn Café which we built using all recycled materials - even the doors were 'upcycled' from the old Papakura Military Prison.

We are in the process of completing our showroom, so please pop in and have a great coffee and some lunch made by Grace and Jin. As we made all the furniture in the café it is a great example of what we can achieve.

As you walk under the grapevines entering The Sawpit, you will discover we are a small company making one-off projects. We use only traditional methods in construction - all drawers are on wooden runners and doors are hand-crafted using butt hinges.

We believe our work will last generations, not just through the next fashion trend. We love doing jobs that are unique.

As we aren't tooled for mass production making things by hand may take longer, but they are worth waiting for. I believe that like good art, furniture has the same appeal.

Above all else, we enjoy our craft and look forward to sharing it with you.
